After a nice boat trip through the South
Funen archipelago from Svendborg, Faaborg or
Funen Sea you arrive at Ærø. We have
selected the best places on our island for a
visit on our own and provided admission
tickets and food. After the program you are
free to ride the free buses around our
beautiful island.

ÆRØSKØBING ON YOUR OWN
Discover the beautiful old town, Ærøskøbing and visit Flaske Peter
or the newly restored Ærø Museum.
You get return ferry tickets, a
lunch at a really good restaurant in Ærøskøbing and an admission
ticket to either Flaske Peter's famous collection or the newly
restored Ærø Museum. Ærø Museum has just opened a brand-new
exhibition where you will meet the islanders at Ærø Museum's new
permanent exhibition. The exhibition starts with a portrait of life
on the island today and moves back in time to the time when Ærø was
part of the Duchy of Schleswig. Along the way you can meet today's
school students with dreams and aspirations, bridal couples from all
over the world, the farmer at Stensagergård and wealthy skippers in
Ærøskøbing in the middle of the 19th century. Here you can also
greet the German iron chancellor Bismarck, who came to play a major
role in the recent history of Aero.

MARSTAL ON YOUR OWN
Experience the unique Maritime Museum and the maritime atmosphere
You get ferry tickets, a lunch at a restaurant in Marstal and an
admission ticket to the Marstal Maritime Museum with the large
collection. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays in July and August
are free guided tours of the museum at. 11:00. Don't forget to visit
the Eriksen Shipyard (together with the museum). After the Maritime
Museum and lunch at Restaurant Fru Berg, there is plenty of time for
a stroll in cozy Marstal. If you fancy, there is also time to take
the free bus around the island. These trips can be taken any
weekday.
